Logan Lee's Best of 2011 . . .

. . . is now up and online at smashwords.com.  Just click on the link to go straight there.  I will be getting it online at Amazon before the end of the day, assuming that it makes it through their content filters and doesn't get flagged.  If that happens then I am sorry but there isn't much of a way around it since Amazon won't inform the writer what they found objectionable.  This collection contains the following five stories for $2.99, that individually each sell for $0.99

1) Shoplifters
2) Cheaters Have More Fun
3) I Can’t Help That I’m A Slut (Part 1)
4) Jenn’s Story
5) How My Revenge Backfired

Cheaters Have More Fun

That's the name of my newest story that went on sale at Smashwords and Amazon already and should be up at all of the other retailers (B&N, Sony, Kobo, Diesel, and Apple).  Yes, after almost a year, the majority of my stories are up on the Apple itunes store finally!  Apple has a lengthy review process for all things erotica that is supposed to take about 90 days and mine was taking quite a bit longer.  Thanks to the Smashwords team for getting that handled for me!

Did I Just Screw My Brother?

It's official.  Tonight I am starting the sequel to Did I Just Screw My Brother?.  It wasn't one that I was planning on going back to, mostly because it's harder to get stories of this type past the content scanners on Amazon and a few other places.  But, that was before I started getting the emails from all the fans asking for, demanding a sequel to find out what happens to Sadie next.

Your wish is my command.  I'm starting writing it tonight while I sit alone in a hotel room.  Maybe that'll be some kind of inspiration for me to draw upon, you never know.  Maybe it'll start to rain, then I would sleep better too.

Male or Female?

The title of this blog pretty much says it all.  I'm interested in finding out how readers within the genre of erotica feel about cover art.  Would a male reader generally not pick up an erotic story with good ratings but with a hot guy on the cover?  Do women pay closer attention to erotica with a man on the cover or automatically think that it must be gay male erotica?  If you have any thoughts on this I'd love to hear them either here in the form of comments or email me at logan.lee2011@gmail.com

Best of 2011

I've had an idea and I wanted to get it out there as well as get some feedback as to what my readers think.

If I were to take what I consider as my five best written stories and put them into a "Best of 2011" to be released on January 1st, 2012 would that be a good idea?

It's something I could do every year hereafter as well. Or, would you the reader like to vote on what you think my five best are from the last year?

Still Looking For Cover Art

I'm still looking for good cover art.  I'm always looking for good cover art.  Sexy and seductive art, the kind where a woman shows enough skin to get the attention of everyone seeing it but still manages to leave enough to imagination to somehow be even more sexy.  If any of you readers out there are interested in seeing yourself or someone you know on the cover of one of my eBooks let me know.

All I ask is that obviously you don't send me pictures of people without their permission and that when you send the pic(s) you state in the email that you give me permission to use the picture as the cover of an eBook.  It is pretty hard to find art that I can legally use and I could save a lot of time better used writing my next story if I had some ready at hand artwork!

Feel free to send art or questions to logan.lee2011@gmail.com

Thank You

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who who has written to me.  I know everyone has busy lives and it's hard to find the time to do anything, so it really means a lot to me when I hear from  someone about my stories and what they like about them.  I love writing and as long as you keep reading, I'll keep writing.  I can only promise that as time goes by I'll strive to get better at it for myself, and for you the reader.  You deserve to be reading the very best that I can put forth, that's what I owe you.  Thank you again to everyone who has offered up their thoughts, told me what they liked, pointed out a grammatical error, or just said hello.

LIke Mother Like Daughter

I have been letting my thoughts wander down some unusual pathways lately . . . even for me.   I plan to have a new story up within the next two weeks.  I'm about 2,700 words into it now and I'm going to make it an unrelated sequel of sorts to the first story that I ever published anywhere for anyone to read; LIKE MOTHER LIKE DAUGHTER.  This one will be about two different women, but also about the sexual boundaries between a a mother and daughter and the men in their lives.  It will definitely be much longer than the first one.

I'd write more right now but my daughter is trying to climb into my lap which means that it's time for her to get ready for bed, plus I need to be up for the ol' day job tomorrow in about nine hours.

Amazon . . . .

. . . . pulled the title Shoplifters two days ago. However, it is still available on Smashwords in the Kindle's .mobi format as well as others!

Too Much Money

As someone who writes and reads electronic media it astounds me when I go online and see the ridiculous prices that some people charge for ebooks!

Seriously, I would never, in a million years pay more than $7.99 for any ebook, and that is pushing it folks. Honestly, I think that maybe one time in the eight months that I have had a Nook have I ever paid more than $4.99 for something. Ridiculous. Don't support greedy publishers.

I Can't Help That I'm A Slut (Part 3)

Part 2 of this series has been released everywhere but Amazon already because I have the known issue getting free work onto their site. As a result, the workaround that I have come up with is to attach part 2 to part 3 on Amazon this week when I release them and charge $0.99 for the two of them. Part 3 will go up individually for $0.99 on all other sites.

I Can't Help That I'm A Slut (Part 3) . . .

. . . will be up before I go to bed on Friday!  It will be live on Smashwords right away, Amazon before the end of this coming weekend, and then it will trickle out to the other sites over the following couple of weeks.

Cover Art Search

By far the most time consuming part of publishing my stories online is the quest for appropriate cover art.  I would like to extend an offer to my readers.  If you would like to contribute cover art for me to use simply send it in an email to logan.lee2011@gmail.com.  I'll give a special thanks to you in the story and mention you in any way I can without giving away your real name or contact info unless you would like me too.

I spend hours looking online for photographs that I can use and I would much rather spend the time writing more stories that you, the reader, can enjoy.  All I ask is that if you send me cover art it not have any full frontal nudity, and please make sure that you have the legal rights to allow me to publish it.  Please don't send me a photo of your friends that they may see and freak out about.

Amazon Update

I managed to get the story Shoplifters up on Amazon.  It should be trickling out to everywhere else shortly via Smashwords.  It was blocked at first and so I did a quick search of it replacing the word "Wal-Mart" with "the store" or "a department store" etcetera.  For some reason it went right through their filters with that change.

This week I will try to make some minor changes and get the other two stories that they have blocked online.  I may not run one of them on there again at all though because the only way I think that I could get it online would be to change the title.  My concern is that if I do that people will pay for a story that they already read since I had several hundred downloads before Amazon blocked it.  That wouldn't be fair to readers to pay for the same story twice and I don't have any real way to warn away the people who already bought it.

Amazon Update

So Amazon has officially blocked a third story that went up last night before it even went on sale. I have no idea why because they don't say.

I'll work on getting them online with Amazon sooner or later. I guess I'll start with changing the titles and see if that's what they have problems with. No other website has blocked any of my stories though so if you own a Kindle search Logan Lee on Smashwords where ALL my work is located and you can download from them to your computer, then install to the Kindle in the right format.

Long live Smashwords!

Rejection

Trying not to take Amazon yanking my stories from their site too hard, after all it is similar to a traditional writer writing something they know is quality and having the publishers reject the manuscript.

Harlan Ellison, one of my favorite writers, stated numerous times throughout DANGEROUS VISIONS that publishers reject things for idiotic reasons. In fact, the premise of that entire book was to take the stories that absolutely pushed the limits and no publisher would touch and then publish them under one cover.

So who knows, maybe in a few years I'll collect erotic literature that pushes the limits and publish my own omnibus . . .

Amazon and Kindle Direct Publishing

Amazon has removed two of my stories in the last two weeks for "inappropriate content". I'm not sure if they will remove these from the ereaders of people who purchased them or not. If they do I apologize.

I'm not fond of Amazon or KDP for a number of reasons, this is only the most recent. For now at least, everything I have written is still available at www.smashwords.com where it can even be downloaded in the Kindle file format.

Again my apologies to my readers, I'm sorry about any inconvenience this has caused or will cause you.

Okay, I feel like a douche . . .

. . . because I just discovered that Smashwords will assign a free ISBN number to the things that I write!  That's awesome because the only thing limiting me from reaching out to readers on the Apple iBookstore and the Sony Bookstore was the fact that ISBN's cost about $50 a pop to buy one myself and that didn't seem feasible.  So . . . long story short, the things that I write will soon be coming to readers on two more venues!

Update on where Logan's eBooks are sold

Currently my work can be found on Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and Smashwords.  It is in the process of being posted to Kobo and Diesel.

As of right now I will not have anything on the Apple eBook Store or the Sony eBook Store.  Both of these stores require ISBN's and at this point in my career I have not written anything that I would like to assign an ISBN to.

As for the Google eBook Store, I have tried numerous times, at least six, to upload the story Like Mother Like Daughter to Google.  All have failed.  The site said that it was uploaded successfully each time but then it just vanished.  Google responded that it could take several hours, but I tried weeks ago and nothing.  At this point in time, I'm waiting for Smashwords to work out a deal with Google.  I think that Google would be well served to conclude their deal with Smashwords as they're missing out on something significant that the other eBook retailers all have access to.

On the subject of Lulu.  I will not be posting my stories to Lulu at this time.  I may put a few of the free ones up on there, but I want to keep my prices the same across all retailers and I can't do that with Lulu since their minimum is $1 and I'm charging $0.99 at the others.  Not to mention that $1 only nets the writer $0.01 at Lulu. Which is the absolute worst by far of all the retailers.

My Trailer Trash Girlfriend and her Family Series

I have been thinking about where I would like to go with this series and I'm not sure exactly when they will be done, however I am going to publish the third and fourth volume's for free.  They will go up on Smashwords.com as soon as I get them done and then they will have to trickle out to any other sites that you may have found my work on.

The reason for doing this is that making a fortune is not something that I've set out to do, I would rather have readers and would like to keep people happy.  To be honest, the $0.99 that I have charged for the first two in the series seemed a little bit exorbitant for such short stories to me.  I was thinking more like $0.49.  But $0.99 is the minimum you can set at the sites other than free. That pretty much sums up my plan.  If I can't charge fifty cents a piece, I'll charge a dollar for two, and give the next two away for free.

If you haven't found them before now and are interested in what I'm talking about, follow the link on the right side of this page to my Smashwords profile.

The First One, The Test One.

So I decided that I'm going to start a blog for my writing after all.  I'm setting it up to be anonymous and since I have another blog hosted under the same account that presents some challenges to ensure that the settings are correct.  I hope that anyone who actually takes the time to come to this blog and read whatever it is I have to say in the future understands my desire for anonymity.  So anyway, here goes the test post.
